Applicants are requested to ensure the application forms are complete with all required supporting documents. Applicants must ensure correct and complete information is provided in applications. Kindly refer to the Visa Application Checklist and other forms / checklists for submission. Kindly read the following carefully:

1. Visas can only be applied with printed forms filled out online at http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa
   Applicants have to select 'Indian Mission' at the top as 'CHINA-HONG KONG'. Fill in all the relevant fields in the application form and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the form. Print out the completed online application form.
2. Online application form duly signed along with 1 recent photograph (recent, coloured, 2 inches x 2 inches size with light background) and relevant documents supporting the type of visa has to be submitted at the time of application. Picture must be clear and not scanned.
3. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of intended travel to India with minimum two blank pages. Applicants are advised to renew their passports before submission of application if these requirements are not met.
4. Supporting documents in accordance with respective checklist / visa category to be furnished along with the application.
5. Appropriate Fee corresponding to visa type applied for to be paid in cash only at the counter.
6. If required, completed Personal Particulars form in accordance with the visa type and nationality of the applicant. An additional fee called Referral Fee charged at H$ 100 will be applicable for non-Hong Kong/Macau ID holders as well as other nationals depending on the application. As per a new mandate from the Consulate General of India, Hong Kong, if the HK / Macau ID card has been issued less than 2 years before the date of visa application, it will be required to be referred to the Indian mission present in the country of origin of the applicant, for all visa applications. Such cases will take around 5 working days. Certain cases may take longer to process than the usual processing time.
7. Visa is valid from the date of issue, not from the date of travel. Change of purpose is not allowed. Visa dates cannot be changed once issued.
8. Acceptance of visa application does not automatically guarantee grant of a visa. Visa fee once deposited shall not be refunded. Applications may be submitted for approval in cases of clarification or doubts about appropriate visa categories to be applied for.
9. The duration and number of entries granted to the applicant will be solely at the discretion of the Consulate. No claims and correspondences shall be entertained.
10. Please carry original receipt of your visa application to facilitate the collection process.
11. A gap of 60 days is mandatory between visits for visitors on Tourist visas. Tourist visas are non convertible and non extendable.
